The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Club (S.T.E.M.) is a club that assists students in their career choices. It offers internship opportunities, leadership development, and teamwork. Throughout the years it has implemented these main subjects along with the field of Arts. Other subjects that relate to S.T.E.M. are Biology, Health Sciences, Cyber Security, and Secondary Education. Additionally the program will aid students in furthering their education on the graduate level.
While being enrolled at Morris College, I was a member of the S.T.E.M. club since my academic year 2016 until 2020. During that time it has given me excess to local companies and people that can aid me when finding employment outside of college. I held the position of Vice President for the 2018-2019 academic year. Due to this club, I became eligible for the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Program. This program was responsible for assisting H.B.C.U. students in leadership, team work, communication skills, their professional resume, and offer internships. Additionally, this program offer on the spot interviews while visiting local companies which can result into early hiring. I am always fascinated with things related to S.T.E.M. because it will always evolve in order for people to function in the world.
